Garden Sundial Accent Table
TIME WELL SPENT OUTDOORS
Crafted for Sunny Southern Days.
Long before clocks ticked on kitchen walls and phones lived in our pockets, people told time by following the sun. Early shadow clocks appeared in ancient Egypt more than 3,500 years ago; one Egyptian design divided the daylight hours into ten sections, with extra time marked for morning and evening twilight.
The DUX Sundial Table brings that timeless idea outdoors, where it belongs. Each table features a precision-laid, Southeastern U.S. sundial and a hand-built gnomon calibrated for approximately 34° north latitude. Set it level, point it toward true north, and watch the sun’s shadow make its quiet journey across the hours.
It is functional art for the porch, patio, or garden—a place for your drink, your book, and a small reminder that the best moments are not rushed. Because a sundial follows the sun rather than the clock, its reading naturally changes slightly with the season, your longitude, and daylight saving time. That is not a flaw—it is part of the charm: a beautiful connection to the actual rhythm of the day.
Set Level - Align to True North.
Sundial trivia: the name for the shadow-casting blade is a gnomon—pronounced “NOH-mon.”

Care and Maintenance:
- Routine cleaning: Rinse with a hose, then wipe with mild soap and water. For tougher grime, use a non‑abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or soft nylon brush. Avoid excessive scrubbing pressure to preserve the matte finish.
- Stain removal: For persistent stains, let a diluted bleach solution sit briefly, then rinse thoroughly. Citrus cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, or mineral spirits can help with grease and sunscreen; test in a small area first.
- Scratch care: Light surface scuffs can often be minimized with automotive silicone spray or furniture polish; do not use on walking surfaces. Deep gouges are cosmetic and do not affect performance.
- No refinishing required: Starboard ST is UV‑stabilized, color‑through material that won’t peel or flake, and it cannot be painted. Keep wood oils (e.g., teak oil) and wood stains away from the surface.
- Hardware check: Rinse salt and pollen periodically. Inspect 316 stainless fasteners seasonally; tighten if needed.
- Pressure washing: Safe when used at moderate pressure and distance; avoid aggressive tips held close to the surface.
- Seasonal care: No storage or sealing required. If storing, keep pieces clean and dry, and avoid heat above 180°F.
- General setup: Place on level surfaces to reduce uneven wear on rocker rails or feet. Lift to move—don’t drag across abrasive concrete.
